I am trying to figure out what two holes the firewall of my 67 are for. both of the holes look to be 3/8" in size. The first is a little below the bottom of the wiper motor and above the backup wiring hole, slightly offset towards the master cylinder. The second hole is above the passenger side of the intake manifold, slightly to the left of the distributor, a little over halfway up the distributor cap in height. I thought maybe they were for connecting the outer and inner cowl but they dont look threaded and I cant see how you would get a nut in on the backside.

Any insight as to what these are used for would be greatly appriciated.

Thanks,

Victor

Sounds like the holes used for the firewall pad mounts; there's little plastic pieces that push through holes in the firewall from inside the car to hold the firewall pad on.

Thanks Jody,

Are there just two holes that hold the firewall pad or are there more, if so, where should I look to find them?

No there's half a dozen or so, maybe more. They kinda randomly across the firewall. If there's still some installed the holes won't show, but you'll see a plastic clip sticking out towards the engine side of the firewall.
