This site has been a great source of infomation during my Camaro restoration so I figured I would ask a question about restoring a GTO.
My father is the original owner of a 67 GTO that is 100% stock. The problem is it is 100% rusted beyond repair. I want to restore it to factory condition and here is the plan I am considering. Buy a nice clean and solid 67 GTO less the motor and trans. Put my fathers engine/trans/rear and vin numbers on the new GTO. My question is are there any other identifiable numbers on the body or frame that would make this plan not work. I'd like to end up with a show car with all numbers matching and moving my fathers vin and drive train to a almost completed car seems to be the easiest and cheapest way to do it.
Thanks for any suggestions,
Phil
