I have an original Camaro radiator that I 'm considering restoring. What I'm asking advice on is the core replacement. It has a 4 inch dia. circle pressed into the fins. Not too deep but noticable. Should I replace the entire core with a new one or try to have this one straightened? It is a 4 row radiator with a curved neck. Anyone have experience in radiator restoration? Do's and don'ts?

BTW, nice new forum!

thanks!

Don't get it recored unless you see the new core first! I had mine recored and the top and bottom rails don't look anthing like the originals!

I did tell the owner to save the old rails for me, but his flunkies threw it out before I picked it up

I'm never doing business there again!

Bruce, is the fact that the fins are pressed over the only reason to restore, Try a fin comb first. Most HVAC supply outlets have them. Just thought I would add that in...good luck :D ...Mike
