does anyone how to correctly restore chevy rally wheels i have a bunch sitting in my back yard and i want to clean them up a bit i plan on having them sand blasted but i dont know if i need to prime them then sand them then paint?? thanks for the help

They were originally dip-primed black (semi-gloss), then the face was painted argent silver wheel enamel. graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Rick's sells it in spray cans. Either with the green tint, or without.

As does Eastwood, Classic Industries, YearOne, etc. I had mine blasted and powder coated and then shot them with the rattle can argent color. Very happy with the results.

Since the rims were panted as John described,
there should be some overspray of the argent through the slots onto the back of the rim. This would be seen on the spare, as it is stored back side up.

I blasted mine, applied an etching primer, then a high build primer, sanded and painted the backs black. Once all that was done I sprayed correct argent silver on the face and allowed it to overspray through the holes to leave a light trace on the backside which is black. Finish that off with a clearcoat to the outer side and you have a nice set of wheels.

You can see mine on the front page of my web site as they are on the car right now.
