View Full Version : Wife was due yesterday, but labor starts on Labor Day!
hugger_sixty_nine Sep 6th, 04, 04:59 PM What a day it has been. I awoke this morning to the excited voice of my wife saying "Contractions have started". They have been light all day but are progressing all the same. Its ironic as just a couple weeks ago I was joking that this kid would surely bring on labor for the 6th because it was so near to my wifes expected due date. Well low and behold, he's making his mark.
This will be our first child and surely this will put some kind of cap on my high dollar project plans as my time and money will be best spent with the little gaffer for years to come. I am so looking forward to this and can't wait to pick him up by the overalls and take him out for pictures with the cars.
He's gonna flip when he's old enough to know which car will be his. Lucky little bugger.

zuma Sep 6th, 04, 05:21 PM Best wishes Graeme! He will indeed be a lucky bugger when he old enough to drive...Good luck to you and your wife!
Congrats Graeme, let us know when the big moment finally arrives. Your lifes about to change for the better!! It may sound corny but you get to believe in Santa, the easter bunny and the tooth fairy again for many years to come, what's better than that?
HwyStarJoe Sep 7th, 04, 08:06 AM Whatta ya mean "...get to believe in Santa, etc. again..."?!?!
You mean there ISN'T a Santa??? :(
Congratulations Graeme!! It's all good from now on!
From personal experience, it was the happiest day of my life, after our wedding! I was present the entire time standing there coaching, getting the dirty looks and getting screamed at.... but it didn't matter. The doc let me cut the umbilical cord, which I must say was a lot tougher than you'd expect. smile.gif The wife wouldn't let me take pictures though. I wonder why?
Good luck to you and your wife!

Jason1968Camaro Sep 7th, 04, 10:49 AM Like Click said, your sleeping is all over now. I have a 11 month old, and he thinks playtime is between 2 am and 5:30 am. He was not feeling well this weekend, and my wife had to work. I think I got 8 hours of sleep all weekend.
But congradulations.... there's nothing in the world compares to a child.
hugger_sixty_nine Sep 7th, 04, 06:31 PM Thanks for the input kids.....I just read those to the wife and she laughed. We went to the hospital to see the doctor today as our last scheduled visit. Labor was false and she is still waiting for normal labor to set in. Today the doctors scheduled her to be induced into labor in a couple of days in case it doesn't happen on it's own. Either way, we should have another "Camaro Addict" in the family by Friday night or so. Maybe I can post a couple pictures of him on Saturday when I get home from the hospital.
On the funnier side of things, the wife thinks I should have a Houndstooth Baby seat made up for the Camaro. It will be in the back of my Z/28 for the upcoming World of Wheels show to demonstrate to some wive's that hot rods don't get sold when babies arrive, they get modified with Houndstooth. It ought to get a few laughs and raise a few eyebrows. A buddy of mine said I should put one between the rear wheel tubs in an upcoming pro street 55 I am going to build for the wife. I actually might have found one over the last couple days where the hard work is already done. We'll see....

ChuckD Sep 8th, 04, 09:49 AM Graeme....in a day or so, you will find that life is at it's best, until the next little one arrives, and then it's even better!! Our best from the ChuckD family!!
hugger_sixty_nine Sep 8th, 04, 06:38 PM Thanks Chuck!
Everett#2390 Sep 9th, 04, 01:46 AM Congrats on the new arrival, best of luck!!
A Simpson baby seat would fit nice between those 55 tubs. Comes with its own 5-point harness. I bought one for my granddaughter about two months before she was born, I was so excited.
