Let me start by saying I'm not a car person. I work for a small toy company and my boss has requested that I "detail" the chassis of our 1/24 scale model to indicate where chrome parts might have been.

:eek: I have not a clue!

I remember dating a guy, way back when the '69 wasn't an old car, who had chrome headers on his 66(?) SS, but other than that, what might have had chrome on the bottom? Also, since this is only a model the chassis doesn't have the detail of a real car. Help!

P.S. If anyone wants a jpeg of the underside of our model to look at I can send it so that you can get an idea of what I'm talking about.

First - Welcome to Team Camaro!

There's a real easy anwser to this...
GM/Chevrolet didn't put any 'Chrome" under the 1967 ~ 1969 Camaros...

There was some Chrome used under the hood on Engine Dress-up items.
And in the usual places on the exterior and interior of the car.

There are many "After-market" custom parts such as - Oil Pans, Transmission Pans, Starters, Pulley's, Differential Covers, Bolts and etc. available to 'Add' chrome under these cars - but none came from the factory.

For a very good guide to the colors (or lack of same) used on many Camaro's (and most other 60's production GM cars) you can refer to "Apendix E" in the Book "The Definitive 1969 CAMARO Z/28-SS396 Fact Book" published by Jerry MacNeish ( ISBN 0-9626399-1-5 & Library of Congress #92-93425 )
