I have about a dozen QJets that I have collected over the years to restore. Does anyone know if there is a paint that matches the greenish color that they originally had?

Eastwood makes "carb renew", but that is either a bronze or a silver which is not quite right. Irridite dipping would color the carb a light to dark brownish bronze which again isn't quite right either.

Any input would be appreciated!! graemlins/thumbsup.gif

If you are trying to make them look original, there are folks who do the redying. The guy who redid my Holley, sent it out for redye....came back beautiful. I don't know who all does it, but I think it's just a dipping process.

What I have found is that the color that best matches is a yellow zinc dichromate....kind of an irridescent gold/green/yellow. The local platers here can plate the steel parts with yellow zinc, but nobody in town can do the die cast pot metal as that is a totally different process.
