: Restoration book for '69 pace car?

My dad is looking for a book/document that gives details on the '69 pace car. He's restoring a '69 396 pace car and he wants to keep everything original looking. He's restored a bunch of camaros before (helped me with a lot of mine) so it's not a question of how to do it but how it should look. i.e. color of parts.

He plans on selling it when he's done and he wants to get all the details correct. He doesn't use a computer so he can't come here and ask.

We've got a bunch of restoration books already but they are too general. Anything with a lot of pictures of a '69 pace would be great. Or even an internet site with an original '69 pace that I could print out would be great. Suggestions? Thanks in advance.

About the only thing that is Pace Car Specific is the, door decal. And after the discussion of a couple of months ago, That's not even the same car to car. BTW, I saw a track pic of one a few weeks ago where the lettering was parallel with the crease, rather than paralell with the ground.

I know the orange stripes and the orange houndstooth were unique, but they installed the same.

Personally, I have not found resto books to be all that helpful. You might consider Jerry McNeish's Definitive 69 Z28 and SS396 guide. Many of the items detailed in that book would be correct for the Pace Car.

The info shared in this forum is second to none. You might volunteer to be the computer liason for your dad.
