After reading how Hawaiian Jeff met his wife on the side of the road with her car broken down, prompted me to wonder how you folks met your current love interest/wife/girlfriend?

My sister introduced my wife to me in a dance hall/bar in 1973. We danced alot that night with another group of friends and over the years saw each other around town and at the dance hall playing fooseball etc. In 1978 I got more than serious and I asked her to marry me several times but she was just out of college working her first job. She wasnt ready. So I quit asking. Then on Good Friday of '79 I stopped to greet her family for Easter and we went out for coffee. In the car on the way, she leaned over to my ear and said "is the invitation to marry you still there?"
I was speechless of course but said YES as quitely as a young bachelor could. The next day we bought the ring and set the date for the next Sept. Now 23 years and 2 kids later, she is still the same. Hope my Camaro can hold shape like she does http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif
Dont mean to be mushy but it might earn me some brownie points http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif

She lived next door to my best friend, and he was dating one of her friends. So he says, "I'm going to go out with what's her name and she's over at lynell's. Hey, why don't you come with me & see if you can score". LOL http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif
I couldn't. She was afraid of me, thought I was a psycho. (Partying alot was an understatement.) So I leave the state and don't come back for 3 years. She hears I'm back in town so she calls me. It doesn't matter to her I have a girlfriend allready. That relationship dissovled fast and the next thing I know we hook up, and have been together ever since. 12 years. http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif And I love her more now than ever before.

Met her (Arlene) in high school. I was a junior, she was a sophmore. We used to hang out at lunch together because she was friends with the girlfriend (Jayne) of one of my friends (Kennie). Jayne told Arlene that I wanted to "go out" with Arlene. Jayne also told me that Arlene wanted to "go out" with me. We've been together ever since. Married for 22 years now.

I met my wife one day walking through the department store she was working at. I saw her behind the register and as I was staring at her I walked right into an old lady and knocked her over. Well after I picked up the old lady and said I was sorry I got the hell out of the store. The next day I was back in the store buying clothes I didnt need for some odd reason, when I just happened to go to her register on the other side of the store. We do some small talk and I asked her for her phone #. 3 months later I ask her to marry me. Going on four years now that weve been married but it seems like yesterday that we met.

I am young and in love still 17, this is my first love and I am sure about it. Problems though she wants to be with me but doesnt want to commit becasue she really wants to go to college in WV and I want to stay here in Colorado and plumb. So this guy bobby who lives out there and is in the navy comes out here once every 2 mos to see his family and she isnt sure if she wants to commit with me but when he comes out here it would be weird for her. Kinda making me depressed because I want to be with her, I am young to be saying this but I think I could marry her in a couple of years. I guess I will have to see how it works out, anyways met her in 7th grade we dated, I guess I treated her not too good back then which isn't like me at all. We started talking again about a year ago, we became really close friends, she left her boyfriend got with me now isn't sure, well sorry bout that just had to vent.

I went to high school and college in Illinois. After college I got a job in Northbrook Illinois and worked there for about three years. I was in a deadend job and felt like I was in a rut, so I decided to take a job in Atlanta. I had a moving company haul my stuff and I jumped on a plane. I sat next this cute blond.....Married her a year later.

I met my wife at the gym (of all places) about 4 years ago...she was looking at me and I was looking at her- covertly. In this case she was the one who asked me out and our first date was to a local boxing tournament. What a blast! You haven't lived until you've seen women boxers knock the crap out of each other! Hello Team!

I met the woman of my dreams while stationed in Germany! (never thought Id marry a woman of another culture) Anyways, I was at the local bar/club after a KILLER training excercise (and tryin to get over my last girlfriend) why I spot a woman with BIG hair like Peg Bundy, and a table full of women. I caught eyecontact ith her, and shyly asked to dance. She responded with an OVER EAGER "yes" and the rest is HISTORY!

I walked in to the local bar one night to shoot some stick and drink a few. I noticed a slender, young, gorgeous, green eyed, brunette sitting by herself behind a backgammon board and ask one of the barflies I knew who she was? She said: “she’s my new roommate! Come and meet her!” 22 years later and she has NEVER let me beat her at backgammon.

My wife passed away and I just wandered into my local bar and my current wife was sitting there with some of her employees she had just finished a meeting with. I caught her eye and said "you sure are pretty". One of her employees asked me to give me her my phone number so she could give it to my current wife. Six weeks later she called me up and the rest is history
It's really great the second time around.

Meet my wife after I stopped to help a car that just pulled off the freeway on Ave I in Lancaster Ca. Her car was not getting fuel. Replaced the fuel filter and the car started right up. Was told later on that the car stalled out again about 3 weeks later and the dealer wanted $900 to replace the in tank fuel pump that for some reason the diaphram had disolved and was clogging up the filter and stalling out the car. (Not she traded it in for a Civic.

It took a while for her to go out with me and the first outing she stood me up. Maybe its cause when we first meet on that street corner I had just gotten off my KZ900 and had not shaved for a few days since I just got back in from a road trip from the Midwest on the bike. So here you had a stranger who is 6'5" , 255 lbs and scruffy looking asking a young lady who is 4'10" 115 lbs if she needs help. Think I scared her into saying yes when asked.

Speaking of bikes I think the bike shorts and the T-Shirt she had on drew my attention to her and not the other two with her.

Shes now my better half, I can actually get away with saying I picked her up on a street corner. We got married in Hawaii going on 8 years and have 2 kids, 1 boy/1 girl.

At the drag strip (anyone remember Islip Speedway on Long Island?) I worked at the pit entry gate. Another worker brought a girl http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif and her sister to watch the races. The girl wandered over to talk late in the afternoon, before I knew what happened, I had her phone #. That guy never would talk to me again, but the girl has been talking to me for 33 years.

The year was 1980. The place was the local college bar(we tell our kids it was a dance). A guy asks me if I will join him playing pool cause there are two good-looking girls needing partners. Sort of a divide and conquer scheme. It did not work. The girls left after one game of pool.
Next bar, I see the same girls. I buy them a drink. They were polite but still no dice.
Later that night I'm heading home, It's about 2AM. Stop at a stop light and guess who pulls up beside me, the same 2 girls. The one I liked rolls down the window and gives me a deposit ticket from her check book. She says call me sometime. I call, we date, we marry. Six months had past.
Jump ahead 22 years. We have 2 daughters in college, a nice home, place on the lake and a 69 Camaro in the garage. Life is great. With the kids gone it's like a honeymoon all over again. She says the reason she did not talk to me in the bar(way back when) was two fold. One,turns out my pool partner was a jerk they knew and two, she says she knew I had potential and she wanted us to meet and date the old fashioned way not in a bar.
It hasent been easy but I like where we ended up.
Thanks for bringing up some good memories!!

Well, it's no secret now that I'm 57's 2nd wife. ha ha

If you're interested in how we met, it happened like this :

Brian went with one of my friends to a school formal while we were in college (They were not dating; just friends). He was a freshman, I was a sophomore. His date overindulged in adult beverages. She introduced us, giggled something about being drunk and asked me to dance with her date. Brian & I looked at each other & shrugged & went inside to dance. (Our song is the terribly romantic AC/DC ballad, "You Shook Me All Night Long" from that dance.) We spent a little time together that night & became friends. We didn't actually start dating until my senior year when he called & asked if he could come see my Camaro. We've been together ever since & were married after he graduated.

Met her in the hotel elevator on a "weekend" getaway trip to Montreal in 1993 with 25-30 other people.

I wasn't supposed to go, I took a buddy's spot after he broke his foot at a motorcross track we went to 1 week before. He didn't want to lose his money so I I took his spot.....

Go figure! We married in 1999.

I met my wife at college. She was married at the time so I asked her if she had any friends that were interested in a short meaningless relationship and she hit me. We were involved in a few class papers together and I was opening up a tanning salon so our group would meet at my salon. Time went on and we went our seperate ways. Then about a year later she walks into my salon To tan and I ask her whats new she comments her divorce. I ask her if we should go and celebrate. She said sure! well we dated for few years, the salon went under and we are now happily married for almost 8 years. ps She is the one who encourages me to buy more cars when the timing is right! I met my first wife of 8 years in 1973 crashing a party in Atlanta. I was 20 then. 3 kids and a 69z later we hit the brakes in Delaware. Wow, what a ride she was.
My second wife I met at my first real job after I left the Air Force in 1982. A friend I just met said that there were 2 girls in the office asking about me and one day he pointed out one of them that just happen to come out on the shop floor. 5'3" 125 lbs, big up top if you know what I mean, black hair, light brown eyes, olive skin. "Wow a Hot Italian girl". I let out a howl of joy and happiness. As for the other girl, she wasn't bad either. Later on I started having trouble with all the local guys that grew up in the area that were sniffing around my soon to be wife. She wouldn't have anything to do with the "DOGS" as she would call them. They didn't like the idea that some unknown came in on his white horse and stole one of the local girls. We were married 6 months later. It has been 18 years, i'm still howling and the guys are still sniffing around waiting. Oh, and I have another 69Z as well.

I met my other half about 13 years ago. I was working for a firm that sold computer hardware and he was a mechanical engineer. I started selling parts to the company he worked for. Well, at the time, he was married and I was living with someone. But we became good friends and he used to come over and hang out with my Ex Boyfriend and I. Fast forward, my ex and I broke up and he moved to Chicago. I dated on and off other guys. Then I had just bought my house and was in the grocery store to pick up a few things. I looked up and Jim was in the line behind me. I said, OMG, how are you, what have you been up to? I hadn't seen him in a couple of years. He said he was divorced now, and I gave him my number and told him to call and we could go for a beer and to catch up on old times. A couple of weeks later he called, and we haven't been apart since. That was almost 5 years ago and we are still going strong! http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif

I was hanging out with this girl, and her little sister brought her over(they were friends) well, me and the girl stopped hanging out and a few months later she called me out of no where(my wife) we talked for a while, then went out on our first date and I got arrested (long story) after that we were stuck together.

I moved in with her a few months later, and we spent a little over a year together and I moved out. I needed to run and see what was going on in the world(stupid move, But I was only 19) We always stayed in touch though, and we would see each other every now and then. about two weeks after 9-11 we hung out and we both kind of realized that we needed to be together, she moved in with me the day after christmas of 2001. and we got married on april 19th of 2002.

We are going on a year now, and things have been good so far. We have our ups and downs, but every one else does too.

Met my wife on a blind date, the date was set up by one of my lifelong buddy's wife at the time, he's divorced now and were still going strong, 17 years this March. She thought I was nuts back then and still does today. Thats nuts about old hotrods and all.

met the girl of my dreams (my girlfriend) two years ago. Since that time we had been off and on as friends/enemies/lovers basically til finally in Spring of '02 everything fell into place perfectly and we have been going strong ever since. Im only 18 years old, but I promise you I would marry this girl. I cant even picture myself with anyone else ever.

I was sitting in the bar waiting for my buddies. When my exgirlfriend's friend comes over and say's that her sister would like to meet me. Four months later we were married. And I find out her sister told her that I wanted to meet her. Well 11yrs and 4 kids later it feels like yesterday.

Wet my wife at work. She moved to Denver, to live with big sis, to get away from smallville New Mexico. She was 21 and looking good. I got some balls and asked her out. Our first date was to a friends pig roast. 13 years, three children (boys) later and loving it.
It's amazing the *** kissing I have to do to spend time working on my car. But thats another story.

My current wife was my neighbor for 10 years. She got a divorce and moved to a different part of town. Just so happens her daughter and my daughter were and still are best friends, therefore we stayed in touch. Well, I got a divorce. About a year later, she calls and asks me to some party neither of us eventually could go to. Couple weeks later, we have lunch, and, the rest is history. Been married now going on three years and I can say that the first time around was never like this. I think I (we) made a much better choice the second time. It's all about getting a long and not sweating the simple s@$t.

This may sound crazy, but she also thinks my hobby (camaros) is harmless (cha ching). I think she would rather me spend time on the camaro than spend time drinking and cutting up. I do both, but the drinking and cutting up is usually with her.

i met her in august of last year.. at a bonfire with friends. she was singing a song with her friend and i heard her voice... awesome voice.

later that night, i went up to her and told her that she had a great voice and we started talking. turns out i knew her ex boyfriend and i responded to that with a "wow, youre way too cute for him." she laughed, got embarrased and acted like she was going to "charlies angel kick" me.. but didnt.

over the next couple months, we randomly ran into each other.

we went to the rodeo (yeah, im a hillbilly.. so is she) with friends and danced a little to a show they had after...

ended up carving pumpkins a few days later and talking on the phone for hours... and finally decided to give it a shot at dennys at midnight.

we walked in the rain for 5 hours talking and laughing...

that saturday, took her to goodguys

been almost 4 months... shes quickly becoming my best friend....

I had just gotten out of jail, was crossing the street and she about ran me over in her 78 ford 1 ton dually. We got to talking and one thing lead to another.

Really what happened was we became friends at a church young adult group, and after she broke up with the guy she was dating, I asked her out, and 6 weeks after our first date we were engaged.
5 years later, I love her more and more.
