I recently saw an unrestored 69 396 Impala wagon, with a metal power steering cap. Did any of the 69 b/b Camaros have the metal cap, or did they all have the plastic ones?

I looked in the assembly manual,no help at all! I don't know, I have never seen a metal cap. I know that an 8inch balancer had a different mount to hold the pump further away to clear it from the balancer but have never seen a metal cap. Thats interesting.

I have seen the metal cap on big chevs etc from 62 to 68, i think maybe 67/68 camaro,s also used them. All the 69,s i have looked at used the plastic cap.
Maybe Mark C., or Kurt will chime in.

I had asked Jerry M. on this a year or so back and his response was "67/68-metal, 69-plastic" since then I have been taking a look at different plastic caps. Original 69s did not have the inner ridge. They are flat except for the raised lettering. 70ish and later caps look like the repro/after market caps.
