What month in 69 did the 302 block change to the 3970010 from the 3956618? Thanks.

The 386/388 blocks were used till december of 68 when they switched to the 6618 blocks in the Z/28's. That block was used until April when they switched to 010 blocks. Hope that helps you. I have some 386, 618 and 010 blocks and studied this all too well.

Graeme. Do you know if it was early april or late april and is it possible to have a 010 block in a march production car?

The 010 blocks were not made until later April and "No" you could not get an 010 block in a March car because they didn't exist then. The first cars to start showing up on the production lines with an 010 block would be very late April 04D and May 05A-D built cars. A March car would have gotten a 618 block for certain. A good friend of mine has a 618 block that might be available. If you need one let me know and I could ask. I have a spare 618 right now but its already slated for use. Let me know.
