I just purchased a 67 RS/SS 4 speed Camaro it is a 4N code car with deluxe interior. It has no engine or transmission. The body and interior are mint. What I was wondering is what would be the best eng. to install since it does not have the original one? I am thinking about trying to find a date code correct L-88. Would this be a better choice than a date code correct 396/325hp. eng.? What do the pro. resto people think?

Depends on what your doing with it. No 67 Camaro had an L88 installed into it so it would not enhance the value of the car, and would probably hurt it when compared to a date correct L34. I would assume finding date correct L88 parts would be tougher and therefore more expensive, so ultimately it would be a losing proposition in a "restoration". Now maybe in somekind of modified restoration it might retain it's value, but I doubt it.
