How does the crossflag valve cover emblem attach to the aluminum valve covers on the 69 and up Z's?

I got a new GM emblem in the package, but after peeling the baking paper there is no sticky adhesive. There is something on there it just isn't sticky. Is it heat activated, needing a warm valve cover to stick to?

It's been 15 plus years since I replaced one and can't remember.

OR Is my emblem just junk from being on the shelf for to long

Hi, I have had several like this also, and i usually just use some weatherstrip adhesive to retain the emblem. graemlins/beers.gif
