I'm replacing my leaky 69 tank with one that I bought years ago that is in great condition.

The inside looks nearly new (what I can see),and I've cleaned off the little bit of surface rust and grease that was on the outside with degreaser and some scotchbrite.

I've ordered new straps, pads, sending unit etc.

What else should I do to the tank before I put it on while I'm waiting for the parts I've ordered.

I'm not going for show car looks by the way.

Thanks. Brian

Brian check out the pics here in my site... I used 2 coats of POR clear paint after scotch brite pads on this NEW tank. POR black on the straps. I like how it turned out.

Awesome, that's exactly what I'm after.

Except looking at your tank, it looks like I better spend a little more time with the scotchbrite!

Thanks, Click.
