View Full Version : how do i find out what is correct interior for z28 ? jccollins Dec 12th, 04, 05:26 PM I have x33 z28 how do you know if it had rose wood pkg or if it had 4 wheel disc brakes Mark C Dec 12th, 04, 05:38 PM If it has a deluxe interior, it will have rosewood on the console, around the radio and the wiper switch areas and rosewood trim and the grab bar on the passenger side of the dash. If it has the special interior (RPO Z23) it will have rosewood on the console, around the radio, wiper switch and have a passenger side grab bar, but no rosewood on the passenger side of the car. The Rosewood steering wheel was an additional option, and if it's not on the car now the only way to tell would be to find some kind of documentation, like a body brodcast sheet that would tell you what options the car was originally equipped with. Only 206 cars came from the factory with JL8 4WD brakes, if they aren't on the car you probably don't have to worry if your car had them or not, becasue chances are good that it didn't. But if you want a quick check, the front discs on a JL8 car are 11 1/2" in diameter where the normal front disc brake rotors are 11" in diameter. Just about every brake component, from the master cylinder to the brackets holding the hoses onto the car,car is different on a JL8 car than on a regular disc/drum car. jccollins Dec 12th, 04, 05:44 PM thanks, does any one know which 4 speed muncie wound have came in z28 m20 m21 or m22 jccollins Dec 12th, 04, 05:53 PM i am trying to restore car i saved this on from a rusty grave. lots of work to do i would like some tips on what my gameplan should be, i do not intend to search all over the country for the exact date block and trans etc but i do intend on putting the correct parts in the car dz 302 etc drdave69 Dec 13th, 04, 03:14 AM As for the transmission, all three muncies were available. My car started out in very good shape with no serious rust found yet. There are still plenty of opportunities to find what parts you will need. It is just expensive to do. Just look in the classifies section of this website every day for what you might need. Use the wanted section as well. Ebay is (dare I say) a must to find some things. Just be prepared to ask many questions and "know your stuff" before spending the big bucks. At some point you will have to decide whether to go repro on some parts. The $$ will tell you when to do that. I bought three water pumps before I got the perfect date match. If you find something you really need jump on it. Post alot on this site so peolpe will get to know you. I have had several TC members approach me to sell what I needed without asking graemlins/waving.gif I hope this helps. |
