I have replaced all the locks on my 67 Camaro with the original type (small key). However, the trunk lock is oriented horizontally. I am guessing that the replacement tail panel was a universal fit and that '68 used different clocking. Does anyone have any suggestions on the best way to correct this? Changing the tail panel is NOT an option at this point!

Why not file a notch so that it will install vertically? Or look for a lock body with different tang orientation.

The lock could be wrong, I attempted to replace the trunk lock in my 69 with a repop, but the new lock had the key horizonal. I know the tail pan is original, I've owned the car since 1978. I'd return the lock, that's what I had to do.
