robbie welcome to Team Camaro, first off, turn off your CAPS lock key,
Im guessing the room moderator will move your post to the Tag section where the number guru's hang out and are most apt to help you there. Happy New Year to you too smile.gif

Depends on where the car was made and what time of year. Generally 4 to 6 weeks is accepted, but if you have an engine that is dated 6 weeks before the car was built when the rest of them built in that same time frame are dated 2 days before the car, your going to be called on the originality of the engine.

Robbie asked about 69 Z-28 engine date timing versus car build timing, and I suspect YOu misc 69 Z experts will respond. My 70 Z built 07E (last days of production) has a LT-1 engine stamped V0729CTB close enough..can you say overnight freight.......
Now on the other hand my 01C 70 L-78 has a Nov 69 eng. I feel that many of the early L-78'engines possibly slated for Chevelles and Novas, eventually got installed in some of the earliest 70 Camaro L-78's , thus having longer eng to car build dates......

Big blocks tend to have a much wider span between the car date and the engine build date compared with the small block cars. My 67 BB had almost 3 months between car tag and engine/head cast dates. My current documented 69 Impala 427 car has 3 months between engine stamp and car.

My buddies 69 427 Impala which is also documented and was built a week before mine has an engine that was built a month before his car.

You guys are all familiar with GM of Canada paperwork but if the car was originally built in Canada, the docs also provide the engine assembly date code that is found on the engine pad! This confirms the matching engine without a doubt.

Mark/Kurt - These are not Camaros but give me a fax number and I'll send you a copy of both cars' paperwork.
