I just purchased a 68 elcamino that is rusted away but still has the original 327 engine with the original smog setup. Will this be the same for my camaro?
The elcamino is a standard trans as well (three on the tree).
Does anyone have a pic of the system that should be on my camaro?
Thanks for the help.

Seeing as how NOBODY else has stepped up with a suggestion I WILL..........Get ahold of both Mr's Greenhoe and Hoedel who sell everything SMOG and advertise in Hemmings Motor News........

Thanks Chuck
I guess I should have just posted this at the 2nd gen site. :D
I am not looking to sell the system, I am hoping it will be correct to use on my 68 camaro. I am pretty sure my car had AIR but I am not 100% sure. I am from california and that is where I bought the car some 18 years ago. Most engine externals were missing . . . it had headers, etc.
Thanks again, Chuck.
Anyone else know if this system is correct?? Doesn't anyone out there in camaro land have a restored 68 with smog system??

It depends. The system itself is the same, but might use different mounting brackets, diverter valve, or pressure relief valve based on the horsepower rating of the engine, 2 or 4 bbl, etc. Can you see a 2 letter code ink stamped on the diverter valve? 68 350/295hp code is "FG".
All 68 small blocks w/manual trans used A.I.R.

Thanks John.
The system is on a 327 4bbl standard trans engine that is in the elcamino.
I don't have access to the diverter valve as I am at work, but I will check it. So these were that specific? Is the FG only used on the 295hp camaro or on every L48 engine??
That is the main question . . . is it mounted the same way. I have only seen the 69 on systems before and they are mounted differently. Do either of your 68s still have the system on them?
I am hoping someone will respond with a pic of a restored camaro with this system on it.

My information shows the same #'s for 350/295, and 327/250, 327/275.
Should mount up the same as on the El Camino.

That is pretty sweet . . . I was wondering where I was going to find a system for my camaro. Sounds like I have found it!!! What a stroke of luck . . . I would think the system would have cost me an arm and a leg to buy somewhere.
:D :D :D
