Dan JOE58 Dec 22nd, 04, 10:04 PM is this the car on ebay? buy it now 225K http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4513713545&category=6161 68Baldwin Dec 23rd, 04, 04:25 AM Joe,Someone sent me a PM and said that Brian Henderson is a judge at the Camaro Nationals, can he judge his own car that he restored? Dan joe69rs Dec 23rd, 04, 04:48 AM Wow! Now that is a really sweet car! graemlins/thumbsup.gif shaugs Dec 23rd, 04, 06:19 AM No Judges can't Judge cars they restored at the Camaro National @ Carlisle. shaugs Dec 23rd, 04, 06:21 AM Scott Taylor Dec 23rd, 04, 06:31 AM I think they are a bit unreasonable in their price expectations. I can't imagine anyone paying 225K for a yenko or 95K for an RS/SS 396 Vert. that's just ridiculous. Scott. 68Baldwin Dec 23rd, 04, 07:44 AM Has anyone seen this 69 Ralley Green Yenko Camaro in person that Brian Henderson restored? So Shaugs,if Brian Henderson was a Judge at the Camaro Nationals and this car he restored came up,what would he do? I agree you can't Judge your own cars that you restore, thats just not right and fair!! Just my 2 cents....Scott,I imagine the TRUE price these cars sell at are kept private, one being the IRS would want their cut on the profits.Just my 2 cents....Dan sicsD8 Dec 23rd, 04, 09:07 AM And to think I had buyers remorse after buying my 68ss!! And it was less than 10K!! shaugs Dec 23rd, 04, 09:45 AM To 68Baldwin The other judges, I believe they have at least 5 (in concours level) judge the car. The same would apply if a judge owned or restored the car. Its very typical for restorers to be involved in judging, because of their experience and intimate knowledge of the cars. Unreal Dec 23rd, 04, 11:41 AM Brian Henderson is a real class guy, and his restorations are second to none. Believe it or not $225 is not out of line for a real Yenko!! I thought they were high at $100, 5-6 years ago. Wish I had bought in at that price. A ZL1 (COPO 9560) did not meet reserve at somewhere around $325 at B-J last January. 68Baldwin Dec 23rd, 04, 11:56 AM Yeah I believe that was the Reggie Jackson White 69 ZL1,I think it got to $275,000.00,Reggie wanted $325,000.00.The highest I heard a 69 Yenko Camaro going for recently was $150,000.00 ,but that was a private sale....Dan Chevy454 Dec 23rd, 04, 05:03 PM Has anyone seen this 69 Ralley Green Yenko Camaro in person that Brian Henderson restored?I have seen it...several times. TOP NOTCH CAR...as is always the case from the Super Car Workshop. Here's some discussion on the car: Yenko.net (http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=0&Board=UBB4&Number=102961&Searchpage=1&Main=102284&Words=%2Bworld+%2Bwide&topic=&Search=true#Post102961) [ 12-23-2004, 07:13 PM: Message edited by: Chevy454 ] HawaiianCamaro Dec 23rd, 04, 05:53 PM Have to ask Dan, Why you playing like you dont know how shows/judging work. You know full well that if Brian restored a car or entered one of his own HE CAN NOT JUDGE it. No different if you were a Judge and entered a show with your car. As with the All Chevy Show 2 years ago in Seattle. If you entered a car you got the change to judge other entries but not your own. If you have a beef with Brian email him/call whatever but keep it off line or at least this board!!! 68Baldwin Dec 23rd, 04, 06:23 PM Jeff,Honestly,I really didn't know answer to the question about Judging,so I figured I would ask.Sorry you took it the wrong way.Happy Holidays,Dan HawaiianCamaro Dec 23rd, 04, 06:25 PM Dan, so will your cars have a new stable mate with this RG Yenko?? 68Baldwin Dec 23rd, 04, 06:30 PM Jeff,What are you trying to ask, explain yourself??? Dan HawaiianCamaro Dec 23rd, 04, 07:16 PM Just wondering if you were thinking of buying it. The color grows on you after a while. Jeff H Dec 24th, 04, 04:56 AM I'm a fan of RG ever since my first Camaro. But I can't afford a Yenko myself at the current market so I'll just have to dream. I'm stunned to hear this car doesn't have it's original motor and the price is as high as it is. I was under the impression that the car was all original the whole time it has been at WWMC. So how many 69 Yenko Camaros actually retain their original motor? shaugs Dec 24th, 04, 05:01 AM Jeff, RG has certainly grown on me. Five years ago it did nothing for me, now because of its florescent 60's look it is my favorite. It especially looks great on a Yenko. I am partial to white stripes but at SCR7 the black striped yenko looked great as well. 68Baldwin Dec 24th, 04, 05:25 AM Jeff,I agree, dosen't make sense!! I would think as a investment, because thats what they are,the few cars that retain their original drivetrain and motors should have the highest values.Like the Wallace Chevrolet NJ Red Yenko Duece (Time Capsule) that was bought from the original owner, unmolested, tons of paperwork, that car should of got more money, but again dosen't make sense.Original everything but sells for less then Neals Red Yenko Deuce from NY. Dan 68Baldwin Dec 24th, 04, 02:19 PM Lookey what I found, ebay # 4513391357,do the NCRS,Bloomington Gold judges use these? First time I saw these,,,,Dan Tokala Dec 24th, 04, 03:04 PM I know the guy that bought the yellow 69 Yenko from legendary Motor Cars and he didn't pay more tan $140K for it. He bought the yellow Yenko, an orange COPO and a Superbird from them in one deal. 68Baldwin Dec 25th, 04, 11:16 AM Pictures of the engine bay, interior were just posted over at Rabbitstoys.com,go to disscussion board ,then Yenko section... shaugs Dec 25th, 04, 12:22 PM I believe the car was restored 6 plus years ago by Super Car Workshop. Not sure if it has been freshened up recently or how much it has been driven since. The guy selling the Optical Zooms (Jeff A.) showed it to me at Camaro National @ Carlisle. Seem to work pretty well, but not sure it is necessary...but neat. LVCamaro Dec 25th, 04, 01:35 PM I wonder why those guys at rabbits board are berating that RG Yenko Camaro so unfairly. Brian did the resto nearly 7 years ago, and I think it still looks pretty darn good overall. It seems like it's a bit personal the way they're bashing SCW for a job they did 7 years ago. Plus, as I understand it, WorldWide Muscle Cars displayed that car at their Forge Show at their invitation, so I have to wonder why they're hitting the car's present condition so hard. I'd gladly have that car in my little collection..Rallye Green rocks! SS shaugs Dec 25th, 04, 01:57 PM I was wondering the same thing. What I like about Brians/Joes restorations are they are not cookie cutter. They spend the time researching the unique markings and assembly processes used on each car, and replicate it to the highest degree possible. SCW also participates in many of shows and give alot back to the hobby. Jeff H Dec 25th, 04, 03:03 PM I don't see anything that looks too bad for a restoration of that age. A couple of plated bolts that look to be showing some slight rust and the tape on the cowl hood seal, but otherwise it looks in pretty darn good condition. 68Baldwin Dec 25th, 04, 04:02 PM I asked all these questions because I personality never saw it and someone that did PM that the owner wanted $225,000.00.I didn't know the condition but assumed it was in top condition for that kinda money, plus the last one I heard sold Privately for $150,000.00.Its not like there aren't a lot found (130)....so I just figured this car had to be in top shape, thats all.I not bashing the car,it is nice,I'm asking questions.Pictures are not a good way to spend $225,000.00 ,if it was me I would definitly take the time and veiw it in person.Just my 2 cents.... Dan shaugs Dec 25th, 04, 04:18 PM So many of the nice/valuable cars usually have the auctions ended early. It seems ebay is used as an advertising tool. For the money you can't beat the exposure you get. But I agree if I were to spend those dollars I would want to see the car in person and do alot of research. LVCamaro Dec 25th, 04, 04:31 PM I sold a DY Yenko Camaro for $150,000 in 2002 without the smog setup, and prices have gone steadily up since then, IMO. I guess it's a matter of getting what you pay for. Any car done by SCW draws a premium, so IMO this Yenko isn't priced out-of-line, even tho a little TLC is in order. It sounded to me like you were dissing the car when you commented about where to get some of that high dollar tape, but perhaps I missed your point. Shaugs...isn't it true that the factory put that cloth tape on all the rubber cowl seals? That's always been my understanding... SS shaugs Dec 25th, 04, 04:55 PM Yes, cloth tape was used to seam the ends of the cowl induction seal together. Some of the "experts" seem a little foolish at times when they make those kind of statements. copoloco Dec 25th, 04, 04:58 PM LV camaro it is not their show its mine. The car in question was one of 6 cars brought by WWMC as a vendor. This car in question had no personal invitation.WWMC was invited and it was one of the cars they showed up with.As for bashing the car I see questions being asked about a car that supposidly sold for $225,000 then shows up on ebay questions will be asked. No differant questions/bashing than on any other website.Maybe we should discuss Tom B's. copo 68? I guess I just don't understand the way people put values on these cars !By the way Steve you have a nice collection of cars,Merry Christmas,Dan LVCamaro Dec 25th, 04, 05:53 PM Dan: the only thing personal about this car is I personally like it, and how it was restored with the correct rubber cowl seal that has the cloth tape like the factory used. Personally, I like the overspray, but that doesn't make it right for everyone, I know. The correctly plated factory hardware and bolts look like they could use some attention, but I'd personally rather deal with that than look under the hood to see a bunch of hardware store metric crap everywhere. I'm not looking to argue, Dan...I just think beauty is in the eye of the beholder and we all don't behold the same way. The car speaks for itself anyway, so it's not my place to defend it. I know this for sure: I'd love to own it! Merry Christmas to you too. Tim: Again, I'm not looking for an argument. It just seemed odd to me that the car didn't deserve some promoting, since it was a Forge Show participant. I hadn't heard that this car was supposedly sold for $225K, so I can't respond to that. I've never met Tom B, or seen his '68 COPO, so I can't respond to that either. I understand it was at VetteFest, but I never saw it the 2 days I was there. It sounds like a nice car, from what I read about it on rabbits forum site. I do know that Tom is an avid SuperCar enthusiast from when he hung out at the sYc forum site. I now wish I had bought his orange Yenko Camaro, after seeing what's become of the prices over the last couple years. copoloco Dec 25th, 04, 06:19 PM Steve when you have 50-65 of the rarest cars on the planet its hard to get coverage on everything.Last years show itself was featured in 3 magazines which included shots of about 20 differant cars.I had 15 cars that recieved features in 8 differant magazines.Unheard of from 1 show. This year already we have had 2 magazines that have featured the show.About 30 differant cars from show coverage.I am expecting 13 features of cars in attendance plus another magazine with show coverage.Myself and Geoff turn in articles from the show of every car in attendance and the editor pics what he wants. For everyone reading this post I'm not bragging just trying to show I try my hardest for the people that attend my show to get some sort of coverage whether feature or show coverage.Thats the least I can do for people who support myself and my show. Its a show with some of the rarest and most unique cars anywhere. Not only that each and every attendee is approachable and love their cars.So in saying its the editors choice who makes it my responsibility to promote it to as many magazines that have an interest..Not to sway away from the subject but its a question that needed answered.Steve originally before I started my own show website and WWMC posted one on their site, for the show, the RG Yenko was the premiere car of that site which is no longer in existance.I'll agree with you on Toms orange Yenko the car was gorgeous. Rabbit Dec 27th, 04, 02:28 PM LV I agree the car is a nice car but what I was pointing out when I posted the pictures was this car needs some work done to it and for $225k it should be a top notch car. Like panels that fit correctly and the correct cowl seal(yes it is correct) installed correctly (not upside down). Look closely. http://www.rabbitstoys.com/other/EngineCompartment.jpg and as far as the car being restored 7 years ago if the car was stored inside the whole time like it is said to have been stored why is it that it is showing so much age? Here is a photo of Cliff Earnst's car that was restored I believe 8 years ago. I don't see any signs of it's age in this photo. http://www.rabbitstoys.com/Forge04/dsc00354.jpg Joe Harrison Dec 27th, 04, 07:25 PM about how many cars do invite to this show? how much are spectator tickets? Will there be a list of celebs that coming like Old Drags racers? Would be great to buy a diecast of the car they raced and get it signed.....will they be doing this? Thanks Joe 68Baldwin Dec 27th, 04, 07:39 PM Scott,Isn't that a Chuck Huber restoration on Cliff Earnst car? I personally saw that car,all I can say is ,WOW,one freaking amazing Supercar!! Dan copoloco Dec 27th, 04, 07:44 PM Joe there will be between 75-85 cars all rare muscle you don't get to see that often. There will be some ex racers that will have diecast to sign.Right now we have scheduled Akron Arlen Vanke again also Ed Hedrick ,Jerry Glanvelle former coach of the Oilers and Falcons,Jim Barillaro(Torino Funnycar/Jack Chrisman cars) plus a couple more I am making arrangements to have.Being thats its in nashville and at The gaylord Opry convention center i'm sure someone else might pop in.I don't want to cut into this thread so please check website or email me.Thanks Tim 68Baldwin Dec 27th, 04, 08:07 PM Tim,Theres a real good chance that the Walley Booth 69 Camaro Rat Pack car will be there also, talked to the owner again last week. Dan Rabbit Dec 28th, 04, 02:26 AM Dan yes that is a Chuck Huber restoration. This past October it was at the Forge show parked to one of his fresh restorations. You couldn't tell the difference between fresh and 8 years old they were both absolutely georgeous. There wasn't a single sign of the restorations age on Cliff's car. I can't wait to see grea it looks after another 8 years. Scott "Rabbit" COPO9737 Dec 28th, 04, 01:50 PM First of all I would like to say Hello to everyone on this site. I have been following it for a long time and thought it is time to join. I see Chuck Huber from CPRx mentioned? Chuck and Paul Cupp are the owners. I might add that their restos are second to none! jsiever87 Mar 29th, 06, 09:50 AM Hi, I saw you post info on another post that you have alot of info about Brahm Chevrolet in Palisades Park NJ.
