Here's some pics showing the full floor pan, full trunk pan, inner and outer wheel wells mocked up with sheet metal screws. We're now locating the frame rails. We plan to mock up the whole unit body before welding to make sure everything is correctly aligned. Use the following link and go to the latest directory.

You can see both rear quarter to tailpan seams aren't right yet. The driver side has a section missing due to rust, and both sides don't meet up with the tailpan, inner valance, trunk pan, and drop-off correctly yet. We're planning on working on this after the rest of the body is set.

Looks like its coming along good, it's nice to see the progress pictures. I have to do the same work to my 67, so the pics and any tips you can offer really help to make this site great!

Lookin' good so far guys! Keep it up!

One question though.... not to be nit-picky or anything, but don't you have a welding helmet or goggles to use? Especially for the kid?

Shut up Joe! He's got eye protection and a baseball cap, what else do you need? Besides, I saw ol' Chief Wahoo in one of them photos, they must be Cleveland Indian fans, so mind your own business! :D

One more seat and the interior is ready to go in.... after primer.

Joe,
I always use my helmet. But then I've got 25 years experience as an HVAC Pipefitter.
As far as Jeff, I keep telling him, but he's 17 years old and knows it all. <LOL>
Seriously, he's seen some of the so-called experts on T.V. welding without a helmet. What a great example.
After a particularly long day, he got quite a suntan. After that, I did notice Jeff using his auto-darkening helmet more.
Had to learn the hard way...........now who does he remind me of ;)

Thanks for all the compliments and replies to our posts. You all help make it happen!

I just want to pass on that the car looks like it is coming along real nice and I don't claim to be a pro welder by any means, but you really need to watch breathing in those vapars from the metal in those rocker panel area's,if there is any galvanized metal in those area's like my 69 had and you breath in that junk ,you can get a damn good sore throat and possible galvanizing poisening,I learned the hard way while working on mine,I got a sore throat and had to get antibiotics twice while doing my resto, not sure if it was from sucking in the gas from the mig or from the galvanized metal working in close places without much ventilation,a tip from my brother-law was to drink a couple cold glasses of milk before welding ,this will help this problem,so it is not only a flash or a piece of slag that can get you in the eye, there are other dangers,so please ware the ppe.it's your health ! I understand there are places in a car where it is almost impossible to use a hood, but out in the open there is no reason to take shortcuts!
