View Full Version : Custom shroud? Jody, any ideas?
JimM Mar 27th, 05, 07:25 AM My redone engine and Lemans blue underhood's lookin sooo fine, I just can't stomach putting the old black rad shroud back on it, and don't think a new one like it would look any better.
Anyone have a line on a custom alluminum shroud, or something similarly pretty that I can use?
I'm using for now a stock 21" radiator, and 17" Durale fan w/2" spacer.
MRCOOL_RSSS350 Mar 27th, 05, 12:23 PM check this place out.they make anything you want

Rocketrod Mar 27th, 05, 12:28 PM As a cheap alternative I have seen some people paint the black plastic shrouds silver and they look really good.
JimM Mar 28th, 05, 09:58 AM nice link to Mahaffey, just got off the phone with them.
Anyone interested in a group purchase?
They do some sweet poducts. If I send him a factory shroud and an order for 5, he'll do an exact replacement for $200 each shipped. Stadard finish is raw alluminum, polishing or powdercoat available, extra $$$.
Who wants a sweet shiny small block shroud?
camcojb Mar 28th, 05, 07:28 PM That's a very nice piece for the money Jim. There's quite a bit of fabbing to get one of those done. You might consider trying to get a GP together on Pro Touring and Lateral-G.

phoenixdawg Mar 28th, 05, 08:41 PM I might be interested, that polished shroud looks great.
JimM Mar 28th, 05, 08:45 PM good idea to troll the other board for a GP, tx, Jody.
Pheonix, ante up, I gotta post running in the forum classified, under bench. $200 will get em if we do 5.
GregD Mar 30th, 05, 01:31 PM I'm interested as well.
JimM Mar 30th, 05, 07:54 PM interested, guys, or buying? My shroud will be ready in 2 weeks, do I have to give them $250, or $200?
Also, I got the dimensions for '69 from Click, any 69 owners wany in, let me know now, so I can tell them how to make it fit all three years before they start bending tin.
sixd8rs Mar 31st, 05, 04:57 PM $200 is a great deal if you ask me!
If it helps with any ideas here is the one I made for my car. I put an ajustable stat on them and may even add another stat so there is 1 on each fan set 15-20 degrees apart. Just a heads up for those ordering a shroud....plan on cool running temps when you install it! Last year in 90+ temps, It maintained 195* with the a/c on!
