Haven't used all the new features and the update looks great. Except for one thing. :)
Having the user's info on the top (vs on the side on the old board) makes the posts longer. Hence more scrolling.
Looking at a topic in the old forum, I could see 4 posts. Same topic in the new forum, only 2 1/2 posts are visible.
Any way to either 'tighten up' the header and footer of the posts or put that info back on the side?
Thanks guys!!
Hi Kurt. I just dropped the displayed name size today, that seems to be about as far as that section will pack up.
There is the option to 'not' have signatures show in posts that you view, some of them are getting to be a bit lengthy.
I had looked at (and done some modifications) to move the name and info around but any upgrades would probably involve a lot of re-coding and be lost during bug fixes and upgrades so left it alone. We already have quite a number of changes but they weren't as involved and wouldn't take as long to put back after upgrades.
You can click on the arrow (on the right) of the Quick reply and it will collapse, same with the posting rules at the bottom. That cleans things up a bit.
You may also prefer changing to the Threaded mode Kurt. It pretty much eliminates all the scrolling.
Click on UserCP at the top left and then Edit Options (http://www.camaros.net/forums/profile.php?do=editoptions)
Go to the section: Thread Display Options
Choose the box that says: Thread Display Mode
Change from linear to Threaded
If you don't like it, just change back.
(you can also quickly switch between the views by clicking on Display Mode at the top right of any thread)
ps, be sure and use the little up and down arrows in the middle of the screen to read down or up the topics.
More info on what this is about (http://www.camaros.net/forums/faq.php?faq=vb_board_usage#faq_vb_threadedmode).
Hope this helps..
