View Full Version : To Balance Or Not To Balance, That Is The Question??? rookie Mar 27th, 05, 02:51 PM I am going to be rebuilding an engine for my CAMARO i am only looking at running 300-350 hp do i really need to balance my rotating assembile. thanks for your time DOUG G Mar 27th, 05, 03:19 PM Its an option I would and did take. Smooths out the motors harmonics and less stressfull. CNC BLOCKS N/E Mar 27th, 05, 03:42 PM If the components your buying weigh the same every thing sould be fine. But with everthing I have seen that won't happen for the extra 125 to 200 dollars get it balanced and while your at it if its a standard have the flywheel a pressure plate done as well as we have see alot of problems in that area. blk/gld 68 Mar 28th, 05, 12:18 PM i had mine done and i was glad did after the guy at the machine shop showed me all differences in weight just between the pistons! then i had the block alined bored and now it's perfect! kausboy Mar 28th, 05, 01:25 PM It makes a noticable difference! I think it is well worth the money!! Nantooch Mar 28th, 05, 05:23 PM had mine done with the rebuild. found some of the rods were 33 grams heavier then some others. Line bore is a great idea too. |
