I recently started up my baby after sitting for a month and on the first start I heard a 'pop' sound and turned it off. There was smoke coming out of the air intake housing piece (next to the radiatiator).

Next, I tried to use the ODB2 reader and no codes are being thrown??

Now, if I turn it over, it will idle and cough till it dies in about 30 seconds...any ideas what this is???

if its loseing spark try a crank sensor mine went bad , mine would run then die. 96 3.8
