View Full Version : Z/28 trunk spatter paint color?

We are restoring this 1968 Z/28 to its original specs and we are unsure what the correct color spatter paint that should be used for this car. Its a matador red car with white stripes. From what we understand all the 68 cars came with teal colored spatter in them irregardless of there exterior color, is this correct? And if so should we seal the trunk with grey base or black base as to give the spatter paint a nice foundation. I do also need to know if the trunk mat needs to be teal or grey hounds tooth. We are running out of time on this deadline so the sooner the better. Thanks everyone for the help. Dave

I use a gray epoxy under it( excellent adhesion), covers pretty quick... don't forget to clear when done (trunk paint is water solulable). I havn't tried a black under color
Trunk mat should match I believe but not 100% sure
