I have recently purchased an RS/SS 350/300 hp car. I was curious, how do I determine what style air cleaner this car came with. I know that it was not a cowl induction style, but other than that, I am unsure if it is the open style or other type. Any help is much appreciated.

put a wanted ad in TC, look on ebay, local swap meets.

Do you have a 4spd or auto? The difference is that the 4spd has a plain snorkel on it and the auto has a provision for the heat riser tube and has a valve on the snorkel like the one pictured. The auto one will be easier to find and less expensive than the 4spd version.

As Jonesy said, the auto one is much easier to find than the 4-speed one. If you are looking for a 4-speed one, you had better open up your wallet. This is the last one I have seen for sale : 4-speed air cleaner (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=4522222880). The picture clearly shows the absent heat riser tube.
