When I recently purchased the car the previous owner had not yet had the headliner installed. He had taken the rods out of the old headliner and put them in the new one already in correct order by his own admission. But he had not had it put in. I was looking at the headliner and noticed about in the center there is a slit in it. I am wondering if this is BAD? The only think I can think of is a provision for the dome light wiring to come throug? I have not had a chance to take a closer look or measure the exact position of the slit but was curious if anyone had and feedback on this? Ever heard of one coming with a slit in the center or am I to assume this one is ruined?

Any input is appreciated.

Thanks!!!

If the 2-3 inch slit is in front(?) of the third rod, then yes, it would be for the dome light. But, usually, they don't come slit. You slit it after install for correct location of dome light.
