First off,I aploigize for my user name, but it seemed like everything else was taken. That said...
What would it take to convert a 68 camaro from a 6 cylinder to a 8 cylinder? What would I need to change in the suspention? How about the motor mounts? Right now it has a 3 speed, but I have a M20 muncie.Would I need to change the trans crossmember? How about the drive shaft,or the rear end?
Thank you...Tom

Welcome to the board Tom. Try posting your message in the transmission forum. I suspect the Janitor will move it there, so perhaps it's best to hang tight for a while.
See you later flatulator.

I converted my 68 several years ago. It was a 6 cyl 3 speed in the floor. I went to a 350 with M20 4 speed.
Let's see what I can remember. You'll definately need frame motor mounts. The trans xmember will work as will the drive shaft. You might get by with your radiator but I went with a bigger one. I was able to use my alternator and power steering pump, both need correct V8 brackets of course. I was able to use my 6 cyl bellhousing, flywheel, clutch fork, and even could have used the 9" clutch but I went up to 10.4". (Now I wished I'd gone 11" or at least a high performace 10.4").
I used a long water pump and all the brackets etc from a 69 or later. I wish now I would have hunted down all the correct short pump stuff though.
If I can think of anything else I'll add it later.
Good Luck
