There is a guy nearby me selling what he says is side exhaust for a 68. It got me curious if this was in fact an option in 68? I don't think I have ever seen it before.

View Full Version : Was 68 offered with dual side exhaust? rmadsen55 Apr 2nd, 05, 08:18 AM There is a guy nearby me selling what he says is side exhaust for a 68. No side pipes on a Camaro. Gary Dorion Apr 2nd, 05, 07:48 PM Side pipes came on the 1970 Baldwin-Motion Camaro. Run269 Apr 2nd, 05, 09:37 PM way back in the ollllld days there was an aftermarket company that made them for first gens. hooker comes to mind but i may be wrong. a complete set-up on ebay goes for big dollars. davidpozzi Apr 2nd, 05, 10:45 PM In the early 70's almost everyone was putting them on! :) Except me. sicsD8 Apr 4th, 05, 09:52 AM He didn't specify 'sidepipes', just side exhaust. Seller could be refering to side exit exhaust, which also wasn't a factory option. KevinW Apr 4th, 05, 09:56 AM Here is my 1st 69 Camaro with hooker sidemount system. I really miss those :( http://www.fototime.com/6F470B91D3BD4AC/standard.jpg WildBillyT Apr 4th, 05, 10:13 AM Hooker still makes sidemounts for a small block first gen. John68rs Apr 4th, 05, 10:56 AM A guy in my club had some made to mimick the first gen trans am look. Maybe that's more what he's referring to? They were LOUD...:D KevinW Apr 4th, 05, 11:24 AM Looks like around $550 for black Hooker sidemount headers (http://www.holley.com/HiOctn/ProdLine/Products/ES/ESHHSCH/Sidemnt.html) and a set of slip-in mufflers. Wish I had a modified car, I would put these back on! :hurray: |
