Which is better, what's the difference? Hotchkis makes a hollow 1 1/8 bar but I can go buy a solid 1 1/8 bar for around $75 cheaper. Is the hollow Hotchkis stiffer being tubular?

The Hotchkis 1-1/8" hollow bar has about the same spring rate as a 1" solid bar. The hollow bar is 1/2 the weight of a solid 1" bar.

The solid 1-1/8" has about double the spring rate of either above.

There's a lot more info on David Pozzi's website.

So is more spring rate better?? Or should I say, when is it better?

Thanks!

The two are the same rate, no difference, use either one you prefer. The only difference is, the hollow bar is less weight.

I have some weight comparisons on my web page.

More rate is not always better. It depends on the application. For general spirited driving the Hotchkis or 1" solid should be fine with my nod going to the hollow bar.
