Would there be any set up on an HEI dist. with vaccum advance where you wouldn't have the vac line connected? I just bought a car that is set up this way and seems to run fine, but maybe it could be better.???
Thanks for any imput.

Hook up the vacuum advance and connect your timing light. You should see the timing mark advance as you rev the engine ... If not, then the advance unit is bad or you are not getting vacuum on that the port you are using or the distributor is already set really advanced ... A vacuum advance is beneficial for street driving, but you may encounter some pinging ... There are adjustable units that you buy. This is really one of those tune it, try it and assess it kind of areas ... But hey, this is also why cars are such big toys....we always get to play with them !
