i had read a post in here a while ago, where someone had requested information on big block frame mounts and a web site was mentioned where there were pictures with actual dimensions along with it. it also had clutch lingage with dimensions and i cant find this post now
i needed to find either this site or one that showed the dimensions for the big block z-bar.
i had purchased a repo z-bar for a big block, and i'm having trouble with my conversion from auto to 4-speed. i have about 2 inches of pedal from the floor before the throwout bearing touches the diaphram on the pressure plate.
i tried a longer ball stud for the fork and it helped a little, but the pedal is still very low.
it's a brand new mcleod twin disk with mcleod scattershield. i'm not sure where to go from here to resolve this, so i thought i would try checking the dimensions on the clutch lingage and z-bar.
if anyone knows where i could find this info, or have any suggestions, it would gladely be appreciated.
i could post an image if needed as everything is hooked up, but i took the trans back out to try to figure out the problem. mcleod "thinks" maybe it needs a longer throwout bearing or a new fork. but then i wouldnt know which ball stud to use afterwards.
and i hate buying parts for a hit or miss solution.
first gen camaro setup.
thanks!

sounds like you have a thin flywheel- put the stock ball stud back in and get a thicker throwout bearing. the SKF part # is N1086. this is also a good NAPA number. it will be- i think- $27.00 or so.

I think you were looking for David Pozzi's suspension page.

i'll give that a try.
i'm going to run to the store to pickup that throwout bearing today. thanks for the suggestion.
i checked that web site posted, yea that was it. i missed it when i looked through the suspension page the first time
and the z-bar measures up. think i should check rod/linkage lenghts?
i hope the clutch issue goes away. the headers with power steering- that was fun
thanks for the help
