The tilt column in the 69 is getting real loose. Has about 20deg of play in it when it is "locked". It's either worn or loose at the knuckel. Either way it requires surgury. Looked at the service Manual and it is probably beyond my abilities. Anyone got a recomendation for someplace that rebuilds em? Prefer local to the SF Bay area but anywhere that does it right is good info.
Thanx

Is very popular around here- note the phone # on the site. He does do rebuilds, etc.

Cheers,

What has happened is the 4 bolts inside have backed out and soon (if not already) your bearing is going to loose it's balls. They are not that hard but a few specialty tools are needed. If I can remember tommorrow I can take some pics of the bolt locations and tools ect....

Thanks for the replies.
Next dumb question, where would one get the special tools?

The lock plate remover/installer is a "borrow" tool from Auto Zone.
