I am wondering what is the best choice for street driven 2002 LS1 Camaro 6-speed power adder. A centrifugal supercharger with intercooler or a roots type / screw type blower ? I have no other mods on the engine other than Flowmaster muff. Want the car to be in the high 12.s but with the flattest torque curve from 2000 - 5000 RPM. I have heard that roots type are not that fast on the Pontiac GTO with the LS6 , but roots seem to be more expensive than the centrifugal.

to go high 12's you don't need a blower.my 2000 SS has went 13.10 @108 on strreet tires and stock exhaust,a set of open headers and some slicks should put you there.add a 150 hp shot and you'll be in the 11's,but remember the 7.5 rear ain't much.
good luck!

welcome to camaro.net...i see your new....
www.camaroz28.com for the later model fbody's the best info on the net IMO is there...
i agree, with some free mods and the right track conditions, i have seen LS1 stick cars go 12's.....unless your altitude challenged..........

open headers are NOT an option on a car with o2 sensors
slicks and stick shift = broken rear end
150 shot = not needed
sold my '00 Z28, but it made 377 RWhp with a comp cam and mac midlength headers through corsa exhaust (spinning 315s on the dyno)
yes it was a T56 car with stock 3.42 gears, also had the usual boltons (pulley, lid) and I tuned it with ls1edit
easily a 12second car
add 4.10s, more cam or rocker upgrade, maybe long tubes, drag radials (still pray for the rear) and 11s are easy
I replied to you elsewhere, talk to the guys @ http://www.ls1speed.com
centrifugal is easier, don't think the magnacharger would fit (part of intake under windshield and all)
EDIT: I encourage ALL of you to check out ls1tech.com and to see what those engines can do
the lack of knowledge concerning them is saddening, they are NOT a typical small block, the rules have changed
EDIT #2: a fellow midwest fbody member put an ls1 into his 97 firebird (to replace 3.8) . . . to make long story short he went all out and car went 10.9s @ 119ish on a stock heads/cam ls1 . . .all motor
