What is best on the street for an LS1 manual trans 2002 Camaro? A centrifugal blower or a roots type. What gives the flattest torque curve from 2000 - 5000 RPM? I would try to inter-cool both options.

From the best of my knowledge, there is no roots-type blowers for LS-1 4th gen cars.

Magna Charger lists one for the LS1 powered C5 series vettes and also for the 04 GTO. The Magna Charger list them for 97-98, 99-00, 00-04 both intercooled and non intercooled. Try www.superchargersonline.com

Go with a centrif. for your application. They are more efficient and are more at home on that engine.

It won't fit an F-body. The cowl does not allow for the blower to fit.

Needs a different hood on the Vette also according to their rep at SEMA. Centrifugal would be much easier.

If I were in your shoes I would look into a Procharger. I have a buddy with one and it make amazing power. The unit uses an intercooler and is very efficent and does not have to tap into engine oil. He uses the Ds-1c

turbo....
what about those rear mount turbo kits that put the turbo back where the muffler used to be? i think one of those kits is actually cheaper than any underhood blower setup, and the LS1 makes enough torque to pretty much cover up any lag issues you might have.

when I looked into a supercharger for my truck I used to have, I Was impresed with the ATI. as said, it comes with an intercooler...more power,a nd it's designed to work with one....as for the camaro I've also noticed they make a kit for carb SBC's....and found out I could run my motor up to 15.5 PSI(max suggested on a 9.5:1) to make around 750HP....all for ~$2200.......

I could buy it, set it around 6 or 7 PSI, and live happily with over 500HP for many years. very tempting

what does a rebuild cost?
do they need rebuilt yearly?or on what schedule?

if your asking about the ATI-pro P-1sc(and D-1sc), it's self contained, and supposed to last...only maintaince is the systems self-contained oil which you can buy from ATI, I can't remember intervals exactly, but it's reasonable and it's on their site somewhere.

and from what I could undersatnd on street motors run a P-1SC, on race run a D-1SC, and on streep/strip cars either is fine. the D-1SC is appearently a heavy duty higher boost version of the P-1sc....but the D-1sc runs around 400-500 more for the kit.
