Are you talking about the plastic trim piece on the inside of the rear window, Two pieces(left and right ) with a center small piece to cover the joint. These cover the metal toothed piece the headliner glues on.
I used a hard plastic mallet (very hard plastic, not rubber), I placed the pieces in position starting with one side and worked from the bottom up to the center. I was able to hit the edge of the plastic trim and seat it to the metal strip small sections at a time. The actual tool I used was a round (cylinder shaped) plastic mallet used to hit the end of wood chisels, it worked great. The round shape enabled me to work the trim into the rounded corner areas of the trim strips. Hope that helps

Place the trim pieces in the sun and let them "cook." Softens them up real well so they will 'bend' when installing. Oh, and strong thumbs.....
