Hi, I was wondering if anyone out there knew what I could do about seat belts in my 1969 camaro. I don't want the original lap belts and I don't want a full blown harness. I was hoping to find a happy medium, something a little more up to date ( retractable ) that will bolt up in my stock locations. Any ideas? - Thanks - Garrett

In a coupe, the only way that can be done is get a seatbelt from a truck or suburban with pod type belts (not the kind hidden in the pillar). Then you have to fab a way to mount the pod to the floor and the D ring to the roof where the shoulders mount. That puts the belt right in the way of the rear seat entryway. The geometry of 1st gens makes putting a 3 point belt system difficult.

I have a friend that installed Chevy S-10 retractable belts in his '66 Chevelle. Made a nice installation and works well. I have considered how to do the same in my Camaro, but as was mentioned above, the design of the car makes the fit difficult.
