Has anyone ever run different back spacing on the rears of a first gen? I have a 67 and the passenger side rear wheel sticks out 1/2" more then the drivers side. I currently am running 17 x 8 with 4.75 bs. I want to go with 17 x 9.5 but after doing much measuring I will need 5.5 bs on the left and 6" bs on the right to make it work.

Is this ok to do? Any suggestions? By the way i've owned a 67, 68, and 71 camaro and they all had this condition of passenger rear tire 1/2" out. Just checked my buddies 79 and it too is the same.

Thanks in advance.

My 69 is biased a good 3/4" to the drivers side. I still ordered 17x9.5 with 5.5" BS for both rims. If I have a rubbing problem I could shim the passenger side a 1/8" to 1/4" alleviate this problem, but probaly won't ned to. I think most people order the rims with the same backspace and just live with it.

Way back then, GM thought +/- a half inch was fine for chassis stuff!

My car is off too......
