I hope i am posting in the right area..if not i assume it will be moved...

okay...i am trying to figure out what this plug looking thing is....The previous owner told me this removed before some of the resto work was done...supposedly, it had an original BB heater core in it.... I have been told this by John Krueger(racer in CALI) and the previous owner...i have yet to talk to the body man...but i am trying...

the plug supposedly blocked off where the small block heater holes were from the factory....since the BB tubes come through the middle of heater core cover...

now my question is....

1st. Did they block off those SB holes, or were they cut to order>..SB vs BB

i have a picture of it, i can send to anyone who requests it...i am going to try and link it to my site...but we shall see how that goes...

let me know if the links work please

Thats a big block fire wall foam plug original part number was 3906095 and it goes between the inner heater box and the firewall where the small block heater tubes would normally pass thru the firewall to block engine fumes from getting into the passenger compartment. GM needed a solid foam seal to close off the openings in the firewall where the small block tubes entered the engine compartemnt because there is only one firewall cutout used with non A/C cars, ie there is no firewall cutout specific to the big block, so they just made a solid version of the smallblock (and six cylinder) plug that had the holes in it. The small block version was part number 3929024.
