hello, i just put new after market ralleys on my 69. the front are 225-60-15 with 4.75 inch back spacing.they work really good with no rubbing. the back however is a different story.they are 275-60-15 on a 15 by 8 rim with 4.75 b.s. they are very close to rubbing on the fender lip. when i measure on the inside though i have 1/2 to 3/4 of a inch to spare. could i possibly go with a rim with 4.0 or 4 .25 back spacing to make them fit right or am i thinking wrong? i know i may still have to roll the lip can anyone shed some light on this also. thanks...

You are thinking backwards or the wrong way.

Maybe a 5.00" B/S will do on the rear?? It will move the tire in away from the lip.

Sorry to tell you this.. but I have BFG 265-50-15 on CL Convo Pros on my 69.
I´m almost sure they are the ones with 5" back spacing.
Even though I use a 3mm spacer plate they somtimes rub the iside of the wheelwell and the shock when I turn.
If I were to space them out more, they would start rubbing the fender lip insted.

There´s just no more room on my car.

Hmm.. just thought of somthing..
My Convo Pros are 8.5" wide.

maybe.. maybe.. there is hope for those 275´s on 8" rims after all.

Best of luck..

thanks guys for the help. i called my tire shop and they will exchange the 275-60-15's for 255-60-15's all i have to do is pay to have the 255's mounted. i think i will be alright with them.
