Just recieved my OER padded dash for my 69 Camaro, Has anyone had a problem with this part? Best I can tell it is 2" too short which leaves a one inch gap at either end where it meets the window piller pices. It mesures 53 inches at the narrow part nearest the windshield when mesured straight accross. Could someone with an original dash pad please mesure this for me and post the mesurements? Thanks

Bingo. Welcome to the party. I was very disappointed also. In my opinion they fit like crap. They also gap out from the dash above the ashtray. I have seen originals and they are a little short and don't go all they way the the pillar posr moldings. Unless you want to spring for the occasional NOS part that sells for $1000 plus it will have to do.

I think I have the same problem, but mine is installed already. It looks like the passenger side is decently tight but there is a one inch gap on driver's side. Come to think of it I remember reading a post about this very issue. Just another case of sub-standard repo parts, I guess. At this point I don't know what my options are. Maybe I will drive the car over to where I bought it and show the guy, but he will just shrug his shoulders and say that is the best there is, what do you want for a $120. That's what I heard when I vented about the wheel well moldings.

E-Mailed Classic Industries with pictures of the problem, also phoned .... got the standard " never heard of that before" statement. Either no one has ever complained to them or they may not be 100% truthfull! LOL. Will keep you guys posted on what happens.

Well Classic Industries followed up on my consern and checked their stock and all the dash pads mesured 53" accross at the edge closest to the windshield. As close as I can figure it should be about 54" or maybe a bit more. Would sure be nice if someone with an original pad would post the dimensions.

the pillar pad will cover the gap between the dash pad and the A-pillar.

the tall arm on the kick panel covers the gap between the dash pad and the forward edge of the door jamb.

Thanks for the dimensions..pretty much mirror the oer repo pad, I guess those gaps are same as factory. Even with the pillar pads installed the gaps looked too wide but as RUN269 posted the factory gap is over 1" on each side without the pads.
