Does anyone know if a longer idler arm is available to match the longer pitman arm for fast ratio steering? My searches show that one is no longer available. If people are using the longer pitman arm without a longer idler arm, doesn't that scrub tires? Also, will these arms meant for a 1st gen box fit the splined shafts on a 3rd gen box?

I think Ricks first gen has the long 67 style idler arm. The newer replacements from Moog have a length that is in-between the short and long pitman arm so it splits the difference.

Thanks for the reply. Does the arm fit the shaft on an IROC box?

Yes, the first gen pitman arm for PS will fit any PS box shaft. All manual pitmans have a smaller shaft size.

Thanks, again. BTW, I thought idler was on steering box and pitman was on frame. It would make sense that the idler would be on the frame since it doesn't actively do the turning (similar to an idler gear or pulley), but for some reason I thought the nomenclature was reversed in this case. No matter, I got the answer I needed. I'll figure it out when I order the parts.

The idler arm is on the frame, Pitman is on the box.
Good luck with it.
