I picked up a Hurst Dual Gate shifter for my 700R4 for helping clean out a shop. Its for a 92-92 Camaro with a 700R4 which I have in my 69. I was looking at it and fitting it to my old parts console and see it just wont work. I was thinking of getting a 3rd Gen console and installing it in my 69 but before I go and buy a 3rd gen console I was wondering if this is even a good idea if it looks out of place or needs lots of modifing to fit.

Mike, I know the 4th gen consoles look good . Check out Year one's convert. they even have some install pics on there site.
I'v got a 4th gen console for mine,and the only thing I can see is it's a tight fit with the seats I'm going to use (Recaros).
As for a 3rd gen console, I have not seen one in a 1st gen, but I do happen to have one in the garage if you need measurments?
