DarrenX33 Apr 14th, 05, 08:44 AM Thanks for all the pictures so far. Keep em coming if their out there. mwh Apr 14th, 05, 01:35 PM Can we post these on a web site somewhere for all of us to see them? I'd host them if you'd like. -Marc ChevyThunder Apr 14th, 05, 05:48 PM I have a lot of photos of a 69 survivor Van Nuys Z..it is absolutley untoched though it does need restoration. This was also confirmed by Jerry MacNeish last week when he personally inspected the car. I have to invite you to see the photo album so anyone who is interested email me and I will send you an invite. Here are some pictures I can post though. It is a flat hood car and the only thing missing is the air cleaner. Obviously the yellow box to the right is not original either. ..it's very dirty though ! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v600/ChevyThunder/Daytona%20Yellow%20Z-%2028%20Van%20Nuys/DSC00234.jpg Vintage 68 Apr 14th, 05, 06:47 PM Obviously the yellow box to the right is not original either. .. Probably added about the same time someone was 'stirring' them purdy blue plug wires around in there for ya... :) Nice find Thunder - did you just buy this? Does it have paperwork or did you have Jerry to confirm all? Got plans for the resto yet? That air cleaner shouldn't be to hard to find or are you thinking of going the "cowl" route? You bringing this out west? Inquiring minds want to know... zbo2 Apr 15th, 05, 06:20 AM i'd like to get the photos e-mailed to me also.....thanks, joe angelglo Apr 15th, 05, 10:22 AM van, you're done. you have 4 z28 now. you are not allowed to buy anymore! angel ChevyThunder Apr 16th, 05, 05:49 PM Sorry guys..it seems I don't know my right from my left..the yellow box on the left is what I meant....I like those blue wires too..I may have to keep those:) The tank sticker was not there . I was comninced this was an original car and pretty much had it confirmed by CRG via emails but still wanted Jerry to look at it. He gave it the big thumbs up..every date code matched on this car..even the spiral shocks...the Red Posi Lub tag was still on the rear end and the gear box and the motor both are dated correctly and have the VIN stamps on them and they are correct. I figured before I started restoring and spending money on the car it woud be good to have it verified as an original Z/28 . The car was built in S. Cal, sold by Clippenger Chevrolet in Covina..the dealer is still there..the man who owned it lived a few miles from the dealership..the only time the car has been out of S. Cal in 35 years is when I picked it up just before Christmas 04 and brought it home..a few weeks later I sent it to the shop in N. Carolina. We were useing it as a template while restoring one of my other cars. As soon as the other Yellow Z is finished I am going to start on the Van Nuys car. I am having very detailed pictures taken of the engine compartment this week and then the motor comes out. I will post those pictures in a few days. I'll keep you guys posted. This is my favorite car I have so I am really looking forward to the challenge and the day when it is all finished. As far as the cowl hood...I love cowl hoods..but it seems like every car I see these days has a cowl hood and console with guages....the car has its original flat hood so that is what I will leave on it. I found an original NOS open element aircleaner already. I need a few more minot parts that were missing and that is it...the aircleaner was the tough one and that is in place. olympic69 Apr 16th, 05, 06:53 PM Van-You Rock Dude! I would like to see you photo as much as Poss of the car- Susp., bolt heads, whatever- hey, its just bytes now right! I have a friend with a cool survivor car, which I hope to photo before work starts. Its all a snapshot in time. Cheers- Rob 19HoosierDaddies67 Apr 17th, 05, 10:07 PM Thats cool that you know it was originally sold from Clippinger in Covina, that is where I bought my first vehicle, a 1995 black S-10 pickup...... I used to live about 20 minutes away in Diamond Bar, now I live about an hour south.
