No that car has rack and pinion steering. There are a couple of rack conversion kits for the first gen Camaros, but they are not really proven 100%. If a rack is not put in correctly and very well engineered the result can be much worse than using an original style box.
Your best bet is to buy an aftermarket fast ratio steering box.

Would the Steering column for the 1998++ camaro fit with the original power steering box? Would i be able to use the column and steering wheel but not the box and other components? Thanks for the help i understand that this is an odd question, its a long story.. Thanks again.

Sorry, I don't know what will interchange with the steering column. If it has airbags, be careful!

I got a good deal on a 2000ish Firebird column, so went ahead and bought it to "play" with. It is somewhere in the neighborhood of 5-7" longer than the 1GEN column. I don't know if it can be shortened that much...
