I realize it was mandatory for SS cars to have power disc brakes in 1969. Was it also mandatory for 1967 and 1968 for cars to have power disc brakes if it was optioned with the SS package?
Thanks,

Disc brakes then were a $79 option for an SS. Not everyone was into getting them at the time.

69 was the only year (of the first 3) that required disc brakes to be added to all SS packages. Only the Z28's were required to have disc brakes in all three years of the first generation Camaros. Power front discs cost you 61 dollars in 69, 95 dollars in 68, and 115 dollars in 67, List price of course.

For 1969 power front disc brakes were included with Camaro SS equipment and do not appear on documentation as an extra cost option.
They were a required extra cost [$64.25] option on Z/28.
Power brakes [not disc] was a late requirement for the '68 model year on Camaro SS with 396 engine.

Back then, discs were new and people didn't really see the benefits of them. Many people were afraid they would be more expensive to maintain.
