I just installed a front disc conversion kit on a previously drum/ :clonk: drum car. I am confused on what I need to do to complete the install. I know I need a diff. master cylinder but from there I get confused. Sorry. Do I ditch the original "proportioning valve" with warning light installed under the original master cylinder, and where should I put the new proportioning valve that came with the kit. Also do I need to install a valve in the new master cylinder to keep pressure on the rear drums. Thanx for any help anyone can give me.

I just finished the install of my Wilwood Kit #140-2285. Keep the the original distribution block in the system and add the Wilwood adjustable P valve in between the distribution block and the rear line. You wont need the RPV if you use the proper MC.Wilwood recommended the Raybestos # MC36317 if manual brakes &
MC36280 if power assist. When you bleed the front calipers, you will need to remove the top bolt and rotate the caliper so the bleeders are at 12 o'clock. Stick a piece of wood in between the pads to keep the pistons from closing in. Bleed the inboard side first and then the outboad side.
Good luck

Let me know if you would like me to post a picture of my setup

Cool. I have the exact same kit 140-2285. A pic of the MC and the distribution block would be awesome. Mine had on the stock what appears to be a proportioning valve already on it, but I received one in the kit. Did yours have a stock p-v. Your set up still has the brake idiot light then, which is good. Also nice to hear that I have to tilt the caliper to 12 o'clock - I followed the install and used locktite red on those caliper mounting bolts. Hopefully I can get them loose. :clonk: :clonk: Thank for your help and hope its not too much trouble to post a pic of your MC setup. By the way did you also keep the rear as drums. I have . I am just gonna rebuild them.

Here is a pic of the MC and block. I did keep the rear drums, but I rebuilt them completely (wheel cylinders, shoes hardware, new brake lines all around)
Good Luck
