I have a 68 camaro and am planning on using c5 rotors in the rear with the LS1/PBR calipers. Can I use the 93-97 caliper brakets used on torker's site?

Also, I'm aware that I'll have to use 2 right hand brakets because I have staggered shocks, but I've also read that I'll need to use two right hand calipers... is that true and why, I thought the calipers would be interchangable from side to side.

Torker used '93-'97 Camaro or C4 calipers not LS1. It's much easier to deal with the emergency brake this way. I don't know about using C5 rotors with either, I'm inclined to suggest using C4 or '93-'97 rotors. As for the brackets you need 2 rh brackets because your '68 has staggered rear shocks.
Give Jonathan a call at www.touring-classics.com (http://www.touring-classics.com/) he's gotten into some mixing and matching of rotors and calipers to fit big brakes to smaller wheels and may be able to help. Tell him I said hi!

Do you know whether the LS1 calipers will work with the LT1 baking plates?
I know that the mounting holes on the LS1 baskets are 5" apart, it would really help if some one could tell me the distance between the holes on the LT1 baking plate.

If you are talking about the caliper mounting plates, give me a day or 2 and I'll measure the ones I have...

3 13/16" oc is what I measure the caliper mount holes to be on the plates I have for '93 -'97 Camaro rear Calipers. The matching rotors are 12" x .79" thick...

THat's what I figured after looking at the pictures on gmpartsdirect.com
I guess I'll have to try to use the ls1 backing plates.
Thanks a lot DjD, I appreciate your help
and by the way your car is absolutely sick!

OK so I've fabbed up some brakets to get the ls1 backing plates mounted to the axel tubes to work with the C5 rotors, however I was wondering if anyone else has ever done this conversion before and been able to avoid the shock clearance issue encountered with the rear LT1 brake conversion.
I know on the LT1 set up you need two passenger side brackets because of the staggered shocks, however when I mock the LS1 brakes up it seems as though the drivers side shock clears the caliper....
Can anyone tell me where the clearance issue is with the LT1 calipers and driver's side shock; I don't want to weld the brackets on and then find out that there's a clearance issue that I didn't notice .....
Thanks guys
