: Ignition switch - help on identifying

I need help on identifying my ignition switch and lock cylinder currently found on my 1967 Camaro. I have purchased a complete update series wiring harness from American Autowire, but my old lock cylinder didn't fit into the new ignition switch provided. I was told by Donny at American Autowire that a lock cylinder from a 67 would fit into this switch, since it's the one from a 67. So that's why I wonder what kind of switch and lock cylinder I have? Please look at the pictures found on this page:

Since I do not have administrator rights and can't post attachments here on this forum.

I could order a new lock cylinder for a 67, but if that's what I already have, this would be wasted money and will not solve my problem. I cannot use my old ignition switch because it wont't fit into the plug in the new harness.

Please let me know if you need additional photos to identify the switch and lock cylinder.

Was there anything wrong with the old switch? If not use it. I know the switch you show in the pic looks nothing like the one on my 67. Might try getting a new switch from NPD or one of the other parts houses and go correct.

There was nothing wrong with the old switch, but I can't use it because it doesn't fit into the new harness; the plug that you put behind the switch.

Choices remain then to contact the dealer that you got the harness from and confirm the correct switch, or cut the pig tail off the harness and put lugs on it to use the old switch.

I think your old switch looks like a 68 switch which is different than a 67 because the 68 has a terminal for the seat belt warning system. That's why the lock cylinder is different.

After contacting Donny at American Autowire, I was advised to buy a lock cylinder for a 67 ignition switch. So I did, but this wouldn't fit into my ignition switch either. So I need help identifying the tumbler I got from Ricks FirstGen.
Picture of the tumbler can be seen here: http://www.finsrud.org/ignition_switch.html#67tumbler

If this turns out to be the wrong one, I will return it to Ricks.

Thanks,

Kjetil
