haveing a problem with my 89 camaro 2.8. i cleared all codes bt disconecting the positive battery cable.after awhile i reconected it and ran the code checking .useing both the upper right hand ones on the ubit inside the car.and i only got the no code signal as 1 blink then 2 blinks... then it repeats its self.showing no codes.i start it up after checking and it seams like its gassing some thing terible 9 (sorry spelling lol ).i taped on the mass air flow sencor in the air tube and it shutters the moter but i allso done this with a wrench to... allso i taped the map sencor and it did same thing.stammering around gassing like its one of my old hot rods that gas prices was 33 cents a gallon.so in this i un plug the mass air flow sencer for just a sec and it clears up.... and i plug it back in and it continues to run seaming okay at a a stand still and can reve it up and it responds okay it seams.i dont know if the computer is giveing me fits with a problem with the mass air flow sencor or if the boy some where changed it from some diff model of car.any help on this out there ? thanks Eugene

Have you checked the filter in the EECS. It's a canister behind the driver side headlight and the filter is located in the bottom. You'll have to remove the canister and flip over to remove. The manual can give you step-by-step. The cost to replace the filter is about $3.00. I had to do the same thing recently.

no i havent tried that on the filter part, but have noticed a strange thing happing. i start it up in mornings or any time and it starts to chug realy bad and gas's up.but is i unplug the mass air flow sencor the motor smooths out and sounds good. after a second unpluged i plug it back in to the mass air flow and it stil runs smoothly.and seams okay.but if i shut it off it goes back to the ruff stuff and the gassing again,is very strange.cant undewrstand why if i unplug it it smooths out and plug it back in it stays smooth.but when car shut off its back to the rich thing again.was wondering if its not the computer reading it right or some thing cause the it caused a 34 code again. if you have any ideals plz go ahead and let me know it sure has me stumped.but will check out the filter behind the head light.and see if that helps.i know i changed the air filters in the breather whick is 2 of them.but wil check this out and thanks alot.my other email is sexcr@hotmail.com if you wish to send there allso, and thanks again.
